The Oakdale Inn offers a unique experience in the heart of Martinsville, a cherished reminder of the grace and charm of a bygone era as designed and built by the Simmons family, one of the furniture industry’s prominent families. Every detail is addressed with excellence - starting with a warm welcome from our Innkeeper, elegant decor, suites that offer soft, sensuous luxury sheets and pillows for resting or just ‘hangin’ out.
During your stay you can relax in a comfortable chair on the back porch, read a book in the study, stream your favorite current series in the theater room, enjoy a beverage on the side patio, or experience the aroma of a good cigar by the outdoor firepit.
The Oakdale Inn sits on the edge of Uptown within walking distance of Piedmont Arts Museum, Virginia Museum of Natural History, the YMCA, Dick & Willie trail, Uptown Pinball, The Ground Floor, Black Box Theater, and so much more! The Inn is also just a few minutes from the Smith River for kayaking and trout fishing, Hamlet Vineyard, Smith River sports complex for trails and sporting events, NASCAR, Blue Ridge Airport, and Hooker Field, home of the Martinsville Mustangs.
